Bobby Kwan is the Chef and Owner of Mein Man food truck in Phoenix, Arizona. He is first generation Chinese American and the youngest of three. His inspiration and experience came from many years of cooking instant ramen for himself and his siblings. Other creations included sandwiches from anything in the fridge to simple breakfasts.Bobby’s dad spent many years in the restaurant industry before starting a place of his own. Even though Bobby did not take the same path as his dad, he has always interested in the industry. An abundant amount of hours were spent researching the industry… eating at many different restaurants. Well worth the 20 pounds gained in the process.
Bobby took the leap in March 2015 and invested in a step van (2000 P30 Workhorse), or old Frito-Lays truck to be precise. From that point forward much of his time was dedicated to researching the necessary legal and equipment requirements to achieve his dream. Check out the Photo Gallery for the truck transformation and the journey from start to finish. He would like to thank all the family and friends for their support.
